Flamingos and Toucans will enjoy weekly art, breaking, sprinkler park, pool trips, sports. These age groups will also go on themed field trips!
Get Ready to Lead
Want to be a camp counselor but you are too young? Interested in becoming a teacher? Too young to work, too old for summer camp but want to have fun over the summer learning new skills? Then apply to be a counselor in training! You can volunteer for a minimum of 10 hours a week to gain amazing hands-on experience working with counselors and children.
The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is an experience for campers completing the 7th-10th grade. It provides leadership opportunities that prepare teens to become staff members and leaders at camp or elsewhere. The CIT program includes: internship in all aspects of a counselor’s job at camp, training sessions on topics such as basic child development and behavior management, counseling techniques and best practices, communication, activity planning and execution, and leadership.
Our CIT program is designed to enhance interpersonal and communication skills while fostering independence and self-awareness. Service is also an important part of the CIT program; we believe that service to others, whether individually or in a community, is an essential character value at camp and at home. Successful participants will come away from this program with valuable leadership skills that will serve them well at home, in school, and in their own community.
Camper applicants must complete the application to be considered for the program. Entry into the program is competitive and is based upon the completed application and an interview with the camp director.
